A young woman stands upright, the large feather crown around her head like a halo, a rifle in her hand. Motifs from the American West were popular all over Europe around 1900, and sculptors put all their ambition into working out the headdress.

The figure is cast in solid bronze using the lost-wax process, each piece chased and patinated individually by hand.
